Your Smile Score is a 0–100 measure of how genuinely and powerfully your smile communicates warmth, confidence, and emotion. Here's what each range means.
Your smile reads as deeply genuine. The AI detected strong signals across all four markers — mouth, cheeks, eyes, and jaw — working in perfect harmony.
A warm, positive smile with clear authenticity signals. Your eye engagement and cheek lift are working well. Small refinements could push this even higher.
A calm, approachable expression. The smile is present but some signals are subtle. A more relaxed, natural expression in better lighting tends to lift this range.
The AI detected minimal smile signals in this photo. This doesn't reflect your real smile — try a natural, genuine expression in good natural light.
Scoring model based on Duchenne (1862) genuine smile research and Google MediaPipe blendshape coefficients.

Smile Tracker uses Google MediaPipe Face Landmarker, which maps 478 facial landmarks and reads 52 blendshape scores per face. It provides a strong estimation of smile genuineness and type, though lighting, angle, and image quality can all affect results. We always recommend treating results as an insightful estimation, not an absolute measurement.
Absolutely not. Smile Tracker processes your image entirely within your browser using client-side AI. Your photo never touches a server. The moment you close or reset the tool, the image is gone.
A Duchenne smile is a genuine smile that activates not just the mouth muscles but also the orbicularis oculi — the muscle around the eyes. It's named after neurologist Guillaume-Benjamin Duchenne. When your smile reaches your eyes, creating those signature crinkles, that's a Duchenne smile — and science says it's the most authentic and attractive kind.
The AI measures four facial signals: mouth smile curve, cheek lift, eye squint (the Duchenne marker), and jaw openness. A high score means the AI detected strong, genuine happiness across all four signals. A low score doesn't mean you have a bad smile — it may simply mean the photo didn't capture your best moment.
Currently Smile Tracker analyzes a single face per image for the most accurate result. Make sure your face is clearly visible and centered for best performance.
A clear, front-facing photo with good lighting works best. Natural light is ideal. Avoid heavy shadows, extreme angles, or sunglasses. A genuine, relaxed expression — rather than a stiff pose — also tends to produce more meaningful results.
